Fish Mate. Gravity UV & Pond Filter Combo Units

Fish Mate range of UV plus Bio pond filters combine UV clarification and biological filtration to give a total purified water pond. All Fish Mate Gravity filter models consists UV tubes, quartz tube replacement, thus eliminating issues of scaling and frost damage with conventional UV clarifiers. UV plus Bio filter is suitable for ponds up to 30000 litres. See the table below to make the ideal selection.

These filters work by killing algae by exposing the algae that cause 'green water' to UV (ultra violet) light. The algae clump together and reach a size that the filter's mechanical section can remove them (normal single algae are far too small to be removed in any pond filter). The mechanical filter section contains profiled filter sponge pads which trap algae clumps and other large particles. These sponge pads are easily rinsed. After mechanical filtration is finished the biological section of the combo unit takes over. This unit contains Alfagrog (called Supra in USA) which is a powerful biological filter medium (also called biomedia). Supra has more than 100 times the biological surface area of most types of plastic media and this allows much larger colonies of bacteria to be grown. In tuen large bacteria colonies remove ammonia and nitrite more quickly and efficiently.

General Pond Filter Descriptions

Compact UV and Bio Pond Filter (see table below) ... designed for small to medium ponds, this easy to hide filter guarantees crystal clear water. Inlet Size - 3/4" , Outlet size - 1-1/4". 7" H x 14-1/4" W x 9-1/2" D. 8 watt UVC (ultra violet light clarifier to kill algae) for ponds up to 1,000 gallons, 300 gph pump is about right for this unit. Use 16 watt UVC for ponds up to 2,000 gallons

Medium UV and Bio Pond Filter (see table below) ... filter is suited for medium to large ponds and comes with a removable bio tray with fast and slow flow zones (slom helps remove nitrates). For ponds up to 4,000 gallons. Multi-size inlet pipe - 3/4" or 1-1/4", Outlet size pipe - 1-1/2". 13" H x 23-3/4" W x 16-1/2" D. 25 watt UV.

Large UV and Bio Pond Filter (see table below) A powerful pond filter which works best in large ponds. It is well suited to Koi ponds. Its high efficiency and easily removed media trays. This Fish Mate model suits ponds up to 6,000 gallons, and a 2,000 gph pump is recommended. Multi-size inlet pipe - 3/4" or 1-1/4", Outlet pipe size - 1-1/2". 21" H x 23-1/2" W x 16-3/4" D. 30 watt UV (2 at 15 watts each).

What Gravity UV plus Bio pond filter does!
