Hozelock Ecopower units ranging form 2200  to 9000 litre pond size are affordable and effective Pond Filter & UVC combination systems that allow you to have clean and clear garden fish ponds all year round. The Ecopower products contains an integral Vortron UVC (ultra-violet clarifier) in the lid. In the USA this filter is called the Hozelock Ecostar and its units are expressed in gallons.

Meaning of The Model Number

If we use the Hozelock Ecopower 2200 filter as an example the model number refers to the volume of pond water the biofilter is capable of cleaning and clearing (from suspended algae). Thus the Ecopower 2200 is suitable for ponds up to 2200 litres.

The unit is easy to disguise when positioned near the pond. These Hozelock UK designed filter types are the problem solver for clear and healthy pond water. The Ecopower 9000 is suitable for ponds up to 9000 liters (2000 gallons)

Additional Features of the Ecopower are

• An integral carry handles are positioned in the side of the filter to make the filter easy to lift if maintenance is required.

• Viewing hatch to observe the internal operation of the filter, in particular whether and maintenance is needed.

• Water enters the unit and passes close to a UV-lamp, separated from it by a quartz sleeve. UV Light makes algae clump together so it can be caught by the foam.

• Water leaves the UV chamber via a spray head, which aerates the water for a high oxygen content.

• Solid particles in the water are trapped on a foam sheet. Almost solids free, the water passes through plastic biomedia where beneficial bacteria cleanse pollutants. The amount of biomedia contained in the filter increases in proportion to the size of filter/pond.
