Prima Submersible Sump Pumps Manual 9000 and 15000 Models By Hozelock

The Hozelock Prima manual series are similar to the Prima XL except that they are either on or off. There is no float switch attachment to stop or start the pump based upon level in the garden pond or basement or sump where water may collect and that has to be pumped out occasionally (eg a cellar prone to flooding during rain).

There are 2 models in this Prima series of pumps ... the Prima 9000 and the Prima 15000. Both are available as automatic or XL models too.

 All Prima submersible pumps can be placed flat on the bottom of the pond in an upright position (this is how it is easy to tell any kind of sump pump ... the inlet is flat at the bottom of the pump allowing water to be completely pumped out of any system where it accumulates and hence the name sump pump.

Hozelock Prima pumps can handle solids up to 10mm making them good for higher pressure filter and waterfall systems. It is almost never necessary to clean the Prima pond pump range.

The Prima manual pumps are excellent when pond pump systems include long lengths of pipes or lots of valves and fittings because all these create friction losses also called pressure drop in the re-circulating system and the impact is to reduce the pump flow. For this reason maximum flow is rated at 1.2m head (4ft) to allow for flow losses due to friction losses through a spray bar, pipe work, valves and an assortment of pump and pond fittings often found in pond pumping systems. If used in a pressurized filter system this unit will also need extra pressure to overcome the resistance to flow caused by the filter

The Hozelock Prima pumps are driven by powerful electric 230volt motors. The pump (see diagram above) is housed in a protective stainless steel case and it has a ceramic sleeve with a  triple lip sealed to prevent damage to rotating parts of the Prima pumps. Hozelock guarantee the Prima pumps for 2 years.
