The Bioforce pressurized pond filters make it easy to "hide" you fish pond filter out of sight ... by burying or by relocating the filter some distance from the pond itself.

The Bioforce pressurized pond filter comes with an integrated UVC (ultra violet clarifier or UV sterilizer as some call it ... this UV unit kills algae and makes the algae clump together so that it becomes large enough to be removed by the pond. The units are small and hidden in the ground. It is very easy to install a bioforce filter, and simple to maintain.

Because the Hozelock Bioforce pond filter is pressurized by the pond pump, water can be pumped up from the Bioforce to the top of a waterfall. Conventional bio filters like Green Machines which do not work under pressure cannot be arranged like this ... they must either sit above the waterfall or the flow from the pond pump must be split in 2 separate directions.

The simplest of all pond filters is the black box type. The Hozelock Green Machines handles ponds up to 27,000 litres in volume (and that's a big garden fish pond). 

The Green Machine uses open cell foam and brushes used to mainly remove leaves, and larger particles of whatever can get into the pond filter. It has a limited amount of biological capacity

WARNING bio filters do not clear green or murky ponds as many people claim. To ensure a clear pond an UVC (ultra violet clarifier or UV sterilizer) is needed ... this kills suspended algae which can then be removed by the bio filter. In their living state suspended pond algae are extremely tiny and just pass straight the pond filter. In other words for a crystal clear garden fish pond you need BOTH a bio filter and an UVC or ultra violet clarifier
