Water treatment using in-line magnets reduces the capacity of chemical salts like limescale (Calcium Carbonate) to precipitate from water and then adhere to pipe walls. When scale becomes evident on the inside of pipes it creates a significant resistance to water flow and slows down the volume of water flowing through the system.

Using a magnetic device form Hozelock Cyprio called a Magn-It prevents calcium carbnate scale formation in pipes and within the UVC (ultra violet clarifier). In this way optimum biofilter and UVC performance ids maintained. The Magn-it will start to work as soon as you install it. However you'll have to wait about 4 to 6 weeks to see meaningful results. Another possible benefit of magnetic treatment in some ponds (not all) is the virtual elimination of blanketweed also called string algae or filamentous algae. For best results, the pH level of the pond water should be between 7.0 and 7.5.
